Advancing gender equality and empowering women and girl child remains a top priority for Canada (international.gc.ca) Government of Canada empowers women to be equal decision makers and agents of change in economic, social & political processes. Canada has played an important role in advocating for gender equality and empowering women. Although international the international law stands in solidarity that all girls should not only survive but be given full and equal opportunity to grow their potential to the fullest; however, efforts and progress seem rather slow and more seem less. V4U radio is committed to remind the global community if its duty and through global leadership, smart and simple ideas leveraging the power of social media to spread awareness at the speed of light. With the help of great radio jockeys, intellectual and international class speakers we are committed to empower the girls and women through creative and engaging radio and TV programming. Programming has to be thoughtful and content so pulling that listeners learn new ways to feel empowered. Empowerment is slow process and its like mastering one skill at a time; skills on improving on time management, financial management, technological management, food and healthy cooking management and that’s what our programming will be focus on. Emotional, Psychological, Social well being is what constitutes overall Mental Health. Life and Stress go hand in hand; Stress can only be managed, it cannot ever be eliminated; and learning and providing tools of stress management can be a lifetime gift to yourself and your loved ones. What could cause it, well, its anything and everything like work stress, kids stress, financial stress, inflation stress, school stress, Covid Stress, Stress on meeting people; stress on not meeting anyone and the list goes on. The challenges seems to change its form from childhood, adolescence through adulthood resulting into anxiety disorders, depressions, eating disorders, behavioral disorders. Worst is that its symptoms is not clear and even unknown to even those who suffer from it. People have a tendency to withdraw and become quieter; if asked, they refuse to accept and take any help; Sharing vulnerabilities is not easy. And since this pillar its most commonly and truly adopted by millions of corporates worldwide, its importance was felt by the the Radio too. Or interchangeably Diversity and Inclusion a.k.a D&I are tow interconnected concepts and have reached and touched human lives globally. Never before we were so ready to step forward and be leaders inside and outside our homes. Never before we were ready to be slammed by our kids with lose and unmeasured allegations of being non inclusive and never before we demonstrated great leadership at work and at public places by accepting people from diverse cultures, religion, sexual preferences, diverse political ideologies, diverse thoughts in following medical theories. There seems to be zero tolerance on judging, bullying, body shaming and its just a beginning. The big questions that we think and carry in our minds- do we have diversity in recruitment, do we have a fair representation of diverse race, religion, color, sex etc. Do we have value and participate in multiculturalism, heritage, diverse languages, festivals, acknowledge indigenous people. Senior Age Advocacy
Most developing and developed nations have a faster growing seniors and ageing populations. It is so important to bring programs elucidating importance in social relationship and social connectedness. Why do we want to lose this most experienced and social capital to senior homes too soon. Its always advised to learn from others mistakes; well guess what, this social bank can give us wealth of learning from mistakes made by Not So Young people. Only if they walk slow, see from behind magnified eyes, or flash a smile from cosmetic dentures does not mean should be discounted by a line of age. In fact these can be best advocates and ambassadors of child care professionals, social consultancy. Ageing is nothing but a process to discriminate that may come with biased attitudes, behaviors and every society on this planet suffers with this stigma. Elder abuse is on the rise and it can be measured in all dimensions, be it Emotional, Physical, Psychological, Financial and thus Senior Advocacy is so important to be adopted by improving senior services and programs. According to National Association of Federal Retirees, Alberta, the province where our CEO resides, it is a home to more than 650,000 seniors. This population will double in next two decades. Similar statistics are coming out of India which is where the Radio operates from. Hence this pillar is seems a perfect conduit to this cause and will strive to build synergies between The Young and Not So Young.
